My thoughts and prayers are with the family of
Michael Brown. They have endured the horrific tragedy of losing their child. A
nightmare no parent should ever have to face.

Unfortunately, this horrible
tragedy can and should serve as a teaching moment for Americans. The justice system is one of the foundational
pieces of America. While many are outraged by the outcome and believe justice
wasn’t served we need to remember the process. We need to be mindful that we
were not privy to the testimony the grand jury heard. We need to be aware that
our media tries people in the public far before cases ever reach the justice
system. While the information released may lead us to believe that Officer Darren Wilson did not make the best choice, we need to really peel back the facts in the case
and review what the grand jury heard. While this is a horrible tragedy, it is
unfortunate that it has become an issue of race, vandalism, looting and arson. Let’s review the facts before
we automatically assume racist intent.
